Curious where you're located because here on the West Coast we call it mini golf but my Ohio relatives call it putt putt. Both bowling and putt putt are terrific - I hope you get the chance to do them! I think the thing that I would like to do but haven't is to write and produce a play.

Hi Kathryn. I'm in Florida. When I was doing some research for this post, I found that most of the places that I thought would call it putt-putt called it mini golf or miniature golf. I just remember it being called putt-putt when I was growing up. So I guess the terms have changed since I heard it.

I hope you get to write and produce your play one day! That is a big task compared to my two things.

It seems regional. A handful of people I know call it putt putt. Mostly the same people who call soda “pop”

🤣 I'm originally from New York State. We called it "pop" all the time. When I moved to Florida, people would always wonder why we were calling it that. Then, I learned they called it soda down here. But I still call it pop.

There are a couple states where people just call it “coke” even if it’s not Coca Cola 🤣

Matt, I really loved this post!

There are plenty of things I haven't done but I'd really like to - for instance, I'd love to pilot a glider. And I'd love to travel - just without the travelling. I think I'll just wait for teleportation tech to make getting across the world take about as long as it takes me to drink a cup of tea.

I last went bowling with my family (by family I mean parents, sibling and our respective spouses) for my birthday over a decade ago. It was fun, but I'm no good at it at all! There isn't quite the same bowling culture over here as across the pond, I don't think - although I might be wrong. I'm not aware of huge competitions and things, and people taking their own ball to the lanes - which is something I seem to see a lot in American films!

How interesting that you picked a branch of Hollywood Bowl that's around 25 miles away from where I am! 🤣

Thank you Rebecca!

You are braver than me to want to pilot a glider. You must not be afraid of heights like me.

I would like to travel too but I haven't been in a plane since 1980 when I was a kid. They started having all these crashes and I got scared and didn't want to get in one again. And then you have the expense of getting from place to place, food, hotels. These days that can add up.

I like virtual travel better.

I thought the Hollywood Bowl would get a chuckle from you. 🤣 I pulled up Google Maps and told it to show me all the bowling within your area. I picked it at random.

I haven’t been in the sky since 2014, but Dad’s a glider pilot and instructor and taking a lesson with him is on my bucket list!

He used to fly longhaul jets for a living so I know I’d be in safe hands. 😊

I've kind of always wanted to lie in a sensory deprivation tank for a while. Also I have wanted to go on a fasting vacation where you can get your body checked to see if it's still healthy while fasting for longer periods of time, but that takes a lot of time and money if you can't work during that time.
