Oh, Matt! Your art is perfect - wonderful, in fact!
And this post - almost in the form of a checklist of observations - is SUCH a delight. Loved it!
My car had to go in this past week for its MOT (obligatory annual inspection) and service. Needed two new tyres, but I'd braced myself (and budgeted - oh yes, I'm on it!) for that already, so no biggie. The garage has recently moved from JUST down the road (a 2-minute drive) to somewhere else further off - not only did they offer to come and collect (and return!) the car, but they even WASHED it for me!
I feel like I've got a new car, pretty much!
Such a delightful post, Matt - I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I was right there with you at the garage!
Thank you Rebecca for the nice comments on the art and the story.
That is some kind of service with the car, picking it up and returning it. I've never heard of anything like that around here. And a wash to boot! Lucky you that it was only two tyres. We don't have to do inspections here in Florida. When I lived in New York State, the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) required a safety inspection every 12 months. Then you had to place a sticker on your vehicle.
We were impressed with the pick-up service - that came about because the local branch of the garage had closed down at short notice, and the next nearest branch is much further away. They knew that we had bought the car from the nearby branch with a view to having it serviced and MOTd there for its lifetime, so that's why they did that for us.
Hello there! I often see your name pop up in relation to Rebecca’s posts. I finally subscribed to you and this is my first post since then. You are clearly a man who appreciates details. And I LOVE your art!! Thanks for sharing your day with us. I’m sure that writing this helped the day go past much more pleasantly than it would have if you’d just been sitting, snoozing, like the other gents. Have a lovely day. 🤗🤗
HI Beth. Thank you. I'm glad you're here. You'll get a mix of everything with my writing. Glad you like the artwork. I also do digital abstracts. You will see some of those in random posts and you can read about it here.
LOVE the artwork, Matt...definitely some talent there! I've spent my share of time waiting for car repairs...next time I'll pay more attention to what's going on around me, like you did!
Thanks Paul! I always read that going into so much detail is not good. But then how can someone feel like they are right there with you? I felt that I shouldn't listen to all the "so-called" advice. Do what you want, which I did.

Thank you Ms. Writer. It's amazing what you can see when you think about it.
Wow, a day in the life. I enjoyed the story - your writing made me keep reading, which is what you are supposed to do. Good job!
