Hey! It’s me. It’s Matthew or Matt or Artist or Writer or whatever you want to call me.
Hey everyone! It’s been a long time since I posted. A lot is going on right now. I wanted to write something earlier this month but I ran out of time.
My art progressed slowly in October and November. I just didn’t have time to do any of it. I’ll do an end of the year wrap-up in December highlighting those paintings.
VETERANS DAY
On November 11th, we celebrated Veterans Day. We thanked those who served and are still living and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives. They went to war to protect us. If you see a veteran, you should go up to them and thank them for their service. I saw an interview with a veteran who said that it is good that people approach them and thank them but people should also ask the veteran their story. I always thought this would be a bad idea as we don’t know what they went through. And it might bring up bad memories. But I guess it’s okay.
I work with a couple of people who are/were in the military. One is in the National Guard. They have a very scary job as they defuse bombs and configure bombs.
One was in the U.S. Navy. I don’t know exactly what she did yet. We were both off work on Veterans Day. I had been thinking about surprising her with a text. She was definitely surprised.
So if you see a veteran, no matter what time of year it is, thank them. They’ll appreciate it.
Thanksgiving
During this Thanksgiving holiday season, please be thankful for what you have: a place to live, food, a job, and your health.
There are so many people out there that are struggling. You might not realize that there are so many people who are homeless. I know of different areas of woods where people stay. They don’t want help and it saddens me.
If you know of someone homeless during this time, bring them some food so they can survive the holiday.
There are so many people who think it is hopeless. That is not the case.
There might be people who read this that are going through a tough time. I understand. I’ve been there. But I have found if you pray, miracles can happen. Just keep the faith. God is listening!
Wreaths Across America
https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org
Wreaths Across America honors veterans by placing Christmas wreaths at their grave sites. This isn’t easy when you think of all the military cemeteries across the United States. There are over 4,600.
Here is a quote from their website:
Sponsoring a veteran’s wreath is a personal gift of gratitude and remembrance for someone who served this country so that we can be free.Â
Your sponsorship supports the yearlong mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom, while making new and existing free programs available to the masses. With each sponsorship made, a veteran’s wreath will be placed to honor an American hero at participating locations this year on National Wreaths Across America Day.
It’s an honor to support those military veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Thanks to Everyone
Thanks to all my readers while I’ve been on a hiatus. It seems like the year has just flown by. I had hoped to get back into my writing but I’ve been busy with all kinds of things. I didn’t want to leave you hanging to find out what was up, so I decided to write this quick note.
I have been off work yesterday and today. Unlike last Thanksgiving, I’ll be working that day this year. I have never worked on that holiday. It’s the only holiday I haven’t worked on yet. LOL! I’ll be getting out early in the early afternoon.
Yesterday, I was busy setting up my Christmas Village. I shot some funny videos on my phone. I have to think about whether I’ll be posting those or not. I usually set it up on the weekend after Thanksgiving but since I work on the weekend that was not going to work. It took awhile because it is made up of 250 pieces. If I don’t post the videos, I’ll see about posting some photos.
Until next time, happy reading!
-Matt
Happy Thanksgiving Matt.
Good to hear all is well. Writing, art, and work keep you busy! I hope you and your mom had a lovely Thanksgiving, and I look forward to your next round of paintings.
