Welcome to my Abstract Art Newsletter detailing Smaller Paintings Part 1.
Welcome to all of my new subscribers. I hope you enjoy looking at art. That seems to be all I’ve been doing lately. I love creating paintings. And I hope it will be my full-time job someday.
I have been busy with work and some medical issues with my Mom, so I haven’t had a whole lot of time to prepare my newsletter. That’s why I haven’t been posting lately. Today, I finally got a chance to work on it.
I’m going to be showing you some paintings I did that are in the 4 x 6 inch size.
To make it easier on editing, I took a photo of all of the paintings together. As I describe them, I’ll be choosing the rows to describe them.
So let’s get to it.
All of these paintings are 4 x 6 inches on the back of photo paper. They were painted with acrylic paint markers.
Row 1 (Left to Right)
Gas N Go #1 – (May 2025)
This painting depicts one of the local gas stations on Wickham Road in Melbourne, Florida. It’s located near a Goodwill, a Home Depot, and various other shops.
From Life to Death – (May 2025)
I took a photo of a branch with leaves. There were some leaves which were green, while others were brown.
Relax & Play – (May 2025)
This is a park located south of where I live. They have picnic tables, a playground, and a lake with a walking trail. The walking trail goes around a large swath of trees. It’s located in Viera, Florida and is called Suseda Park.
Leaves Me Wondering – (March 2025)
When I go on a walk it usually takes me by a Preservation Area near one of our ponds. I have an endless supply of material to take photos of.
Row 2 (Left to Right)
Bloomin’ Pink Flowers – (April 2025)
I came across a plant with some pink flowers while on my walk. It’s amazing what you can find if you look carefully. Mother nature is unique.
Coffee, Anyone? – (May 2025)
This is a shelving system where coffee was being made. There were cups. The cord was dangling down to the outlet. There were little trinkets on each shelf. This is from one of my Mom’s former doctor’s offices.
Patriot Cake – (July 2025)
I was experimenting with blue as the outline color. Every painting I do has the black outline. This is the only painting that doesn’t. Once I was finished with this random drawing, it looked like a cake and that’s how I got the name.
World of Learning – (August 2025)
I was at one of the local libraries to meet a friend and I had to wait for about 10 minutes. I noticed this round globe-like object on the railing. I thought, “Hmm...that looks just like what I’m looking for.”
Row 3 (Left to Right)
Alive – (March 2025)
A tree that was alive with green leaves. It was growing big from all the rain we had. This tree still had life in it.
Recycling #2 – (May 2025)
When I head to the recycling bins, I snap photos of what is inside and outside the bins. There are an unlimited numbers of shapes caused by what people throw out.
Frog Pizza – (May 2025)
Welcome to recycling! I found a pizza box that was thrown out. First off, it was placed in the wrong place. Someone placed it in the recycling area. It is not recyclable as it has food on it. They should have thrown it in the garbage. Once I drew it out, it resembled a frog, so I named it Frog Pizza.
Untitled – (July 2025)
On this one, I wanted to experiment with a different outline color. I didn’t like it so I went over it with my black outline. This was a random drawing. I have no idea what to name this. Names I’ve thrown around are: Monster Mash and Monster Crunch. It resembles some kind of animal with the eye and mouth. If you want to provide some names, I’ll consider them when I finally name it.
Conclusion
Well, that will do it for now.
I have a painting reveal coming up soon where I used a photo with permission from another artist on Substack. I think you’ll love what I came up with.
