Hi readers and subscribers,
Welcome to the April 2025 – Abstract Art Newsletter.
As you’ve noticed, I haven’t been posting like I used to. Unfortunately, I don’t have time with all my responsibilities right now. I wish it wasn’t this way but it is what it is. I have no control over it.
I have finished 13 paintings since the beginning of February.
I’m going to be showing you three paintings. When I have time, I’ll post the other paintings and their descriptions.
For those of you that may be new to my paintings. I use photos of maps and photos that I have taken to get my ideas for my paintings. All paintings are painted on all sides (top, left, right and bottom).
I have started two new series – God Hears Your Prayers and God Blesses You. Starting out, I have one in the first series and two in the other series.
March 2025
God Hears Your Prayers #1, 24 inches x 30 inches (acrylic paint marker on canvas)
This is the first in the series. This is my largest painting to date. People need all kinds of help these days. Praying can help people and I wanted to depict that God hears those prayers. There are 14 churches in the Melbourne, Florida area shown. Each is the top-down of the church, their parking lot and the area around the church.
A few years ago, I was in desperate need of help. I and others prayed and I got the help I needed, in the form of a job. I had been out of work for a long time. This was the best indication that praying does help. It was truly a miracle after being out of work for so long. For those people out there that think it won’t work, what do you have to lose? Your prayers might be answered.
April 2025
God Blesses You #1, 4 inches by 6 inches (acrylic paint marker on photo paper)
The first in the series. Cross Bridge Church in Rockledge, Florida is shown with some parking on the south side of the building. Only the main building could be painted since this size is so small. I know a lot about this church because it is right next to my condo complex. When it’s election time, this is where I go to vote. The voting has been done in three different rooms. It used to be done in the small gymnasium. Then it was a smaller room down the hallway. Now it’s done in a totally different building behind the main building. I didn’t have room for that building and the rest of the area surrounding the church. I might paint the whole thing in a bigger size at a later time.
God Blesses You #2, 4 inches by 6 inches (acrylic paint marker on photo paper)
The second in the series. Faith Baptist Church in Rockledge, Florida is the next in the series. It is located off a side street from one of the main streets. There’s actually another church next to it. A group of trees separates them. You see the main building plus the parking lot. There’s a few cars in the spots.
Conclusion
Well, that will do it for now. I hope to get some of the other 10 paintings online for you to see next month. All of those are small paintings. I haven’t had time to start anything large.

As always, super nice work, Matt! Keep up the great work, even if you only have time for smaller paintings. The important thing is to stay creative!
